Feeling casual
Happy final week of December!
My show closed early, so I'm enjoying a bit of unexpected downtime. I have meetings and workshop days here and there, but don't go back to production full time for another couple of weeks! Luxury!
My fridge is packed with leftovers from various Christmas funsies, and I have some dinners with friends planned this week, plus I am hosting New Year's Eve with a few people this weekend. So I'm feeling very casual this week, and don't need to prep much to ensure I'll make it through.
I do have a beautiful pound of carrots left in the fridge from the CSA haul a couple of weeks ago, and also two whole lovely heads of cabbage. I'm looking forward to making a carrot soup next week, so stay tuned for that. Meanwhile, all I've prepped today to sustain me through the weekend is this lovely onion and cabbage tart. It's winter-veggie-y and cheesy, salty and smokey, with just the right amount of vinegar.
I might or might not have a houseguest this weekend, and this tart means I'll have enough food to share with a friend, but it will keep in the fridge long enough that I'll be able to polish it off myself if she doesn't kick her flu in time to come visit.
